I recently was part of a conversation with the Congress for the New Urbanism's President, John Norquist, about the proposed changes to the elevated section of I-70 in Denver. He pointed us to the CNU Highways to Boulevards Initiative website. There are several great examples on the page of sections of highway (often elevated) that were built cutting through urban fabric, that are now being closed or otherwise rethought.
